Praline

Little Praline came in the summer of 2016, under weight and bald patches. upon a vet visit it was discovered she had an undiagnosed thyroid condition. Once she was on regular medication she gained weight and her fur filled as did her personality. We could not understand why we still had her almost a year later. Now we know she was waiting for her perfect mom. Finally they met at Pet Expo 2017 and the rest they say is history. Happy life little one!

Didley

Didley has been with us since the summer of 2012. He arrived with his Brother and Sister from Forks. They were born in a barn and not handled by humans and then it was to land in the Forks shelter. Didley's siblings were more fortunate i n that they got to go to a temporary foster home and get some human handling. Didley was left behind to be drug around the shelter by the staff with a catch pole leaving him a bad taste in about people. He's been a long project dog and his time has finally come for a home and life to call his own!
About 6 weeks ago we got an application for him from a gal in Alaska who has a boy that's also 1/2 Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier, a very formidable breed. We believe Didley's other side is Australian Shepherd.
She flew down here with her dog to meet Didley and I was beyond thrilled at the way she handled him. He's still leery of new people and social scenes. She led him around on leash and truly took control, which he needs. She picked him up and got him on her lap, loved that. She has the leader traits and knowledge he needs to continue succeeding in life! Her dog came from a sorted past as well and he's a wonderful dog now under her care and guidance!
This is bittersweet as he's been with me for over 2 years now but this is what rescue is - letting them move on to their own life to make room for another deserving soul.
We're all set now and meeting her by the airport later today as they make their way back to Alaska and Didley's new life!

Luke
Luke

Luke was attacked by a larger dog at some point and lost sight in one eye.  Then his family moved away, leaving him on the streets to fend for himself.  A lady in the neighborhood knew his story and took him in to find him a new and better life.  Mitzi Spallas helped network him and we took him in.
This guy is so sweet and holds no grudge to humans or other dogs.  He now shares his life with a very active, wonderful senior woman.  She spends a great deal of time visiting her daughter's family who Luke has gotten to know well along with their 2 dogs.  Luke sleeps with her and goes everywhere with her.  He now has a who extended family who loves him so much!
