About Lizzie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
ATTENTION....this dog is located in Yakima, WA and is a courtesy post for Lifesavers Rescue. This is not a Collar of Hope foster dog. This stunning looking dog is LIZZY. She is a German Shepherd mix we believe. LIZZY is 3 years old and is 22" tall. She has a medium hair coat. Unfortunately it is hard to get a good picture of a black dog on these dark, gloomy days we are having. She weighs about 40#. LIZZY is living in a home with several other dogs, big and small, young and old and with indoor cats and she ignores and cats and plays with the other dogs. LIZZY came from a home where she lived with a senior man and he left her tied up outside for about 2 years with no socialization with other dogs or with people. What a waste for a dog with SO much potential and intelligence. She had started out as a puppy in the home with a family and children and then given to this single older man and thrown to the back yard. Imagine how confused and lonely she was. LIZZY is a shy girl at when she first meets people but since being inside and with her foster family she is gaining self confidence and starting to show her outstanding gentle, kind and loving personality With Lizzy being a German Shepherd, she a quite intelligent and easily trainable and could be a protective companion. Because of Shepherds intelligence and learning ability, we see them in the service field. Shepherds are very loyal to their humans and are quite intuitive. I have had 2 German Shepherds and found them to be outstanding dogs. LIZZY would do best in a home with gentle, laid back type of people, A person or family who are committed to working with her would reap rewards back from LIZZY....she just needs a chance!! LIZZY would REALLY come around and gain self confidence if there was a family adult member who would take her for walks or runs daily. She is doing better and better every day in her foster home. A well exercised dog who is given correct obedience training makes for a well balanced dog, physically and mentally. A fenced yard is mandatory! PLEASE GIVE LIZZY SOME THOUGHT! She is spayed, vaccinated and been given one Rabies vaccine also. There is a $125 adoption donation required. FOR ADOPTION APPLICATION PLEASE EMAIL:lifesaversrescue@live.com
