About Lily

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes
PLEASE go to our Petfinder Home Page www.collarofhope.petfinder.com for information about our rescue, adoption process and to get our adoption application Lily is a gorgeous pure bred cocker spaniel, 14 months old and 21 pounds. She was surrendered to rescue after 3 failed vet appointments to no avail in diagnosing a problem with her ear. Our vets discovered the problem in just a few minutes... her last grooming appointment left her with the botton of her left ear cut off and glued back on! She's had surgery to clean up the wound and reshape it. Thank goodness she can grow long ear fur so a groomer will be able to trim them up so they look even once the fur grows back out from her surgery. We hear more and more horror stories about groomers so research groomers so if you don't have a relationship with one yet and you are interested in darling Lily, please research the groomer well before hand You will need a relationship with a groomer or have groomer lined up you will be using and will need to add the name and phone number to your application for her. Also keep in mind that she will need to be professionally groomed about every 6 weeks for the rest of her life with brushing at home regularly in between. When kept groomed and fed a good wheat and corn free diet or better yet, grain free diet, you can decrease or elimiate the problematic ear infections that this breed is so prone to. Lily is just over a year old and has already been in 2 home through no fault of her own. She was unfortunately owned by uncommited people. Her next home needs to be her 3rd time's a charm and a forever commited, wonderful home for her! She is spayed, vaccine's all up to date for the next 3 yrs, parasite treated/prevented and microchipped. Adoption fee of $350 applies
