 Lara is a darling Maltese girl who came to us from a shelter partner who confiscated 16 dogs (we took 3 of them) from a home that had 21.  The owner was 16 dogs over limit and was a backyard breeder and hoarder.  These dogs were clearly loved if not properly cared for.  They had not been to a professional groomer.  Our groomer was able to clean them up nicely going slow, gentle and encouraging them through the process.  Her new owner will have to have such a groomer on board to get her used to being properly groomed for the rest of her life.  We are looking for owners that have maltese or alike breed type experience.  Those who know how to properly take care of this breed ie: REGULAR DENTALS AND PROFESSIONAL GROOMING!
This doll is only 4-1/2 years old and lost 20 teeth during her dental.  It's a Maltese thing.  If you can't afford the grooming and dentals, this is not the dog breed for you.
Because there were so many dogs at that home, they are not reliably house trained so much be taken out frequently and ideally contained in a pen with potty pads when you need to be away.  They will use the pads.  And they also are more at ease with other dogs around that are kind and welcoming.  Lara doesn't do well with over active types and she loves Danny.  When all alone, she will cry a lot. 
She's now had current vaccines done, spayed, dental (she lost 20 teeth), lab work, micro chipped and been professionally groomed.

We will likely get a lot of interest in this girl and only 1 will be able to adopt so please note we have 7 year old Danny (who has no teeth left so no future dentals for him) and 10 year old Babs (who will do best of the 3 adopted as a single dog) from the same place that are also Maltese and in need of stellar new families to call their own.
